Question by -SHADE-
It has come to this. The question that was previously deleted because of some f*cking trolls. But now to get to the point. This tournament has been going on all day long. And out of 32 selected wrestlers, only 2 have made it to the finals. Chris Jericho and CM Punk. Who do you choose to win the YA Wrestling Tournament of July 5th? If you previously commented with your pick, please do it again. I know it will waste an answer on this instead of another question, but the winner must be decided. Thank you all for participating in this nice game away from the IWC politics today. Who knows? Maybe I’ll do another some time. Or maybe one of you keep it going? We’ll see.
(after “you’ and before “keep”) *can

Question by Guy W: what is the security like at yahoo i have had to close one email address created a new one its been stolen 2?
its been hijacked by spam rolex sells force

Answer by MKchi
If you accounts and other information keeps getting hijacked it means there is some spyware or virus on your computer that just records EVERYTHING you do, so when you log into something like yahoo, you are giving away your username and password. You need a real, legitanite, Anti-Virus/Spyware program to clean out your system and help protect you in the future. You will no doubt be flooded with people recommending “Free” protection programs and you need to remember, when it comes to security, you get what you pay for and when you pay nothing, you get nothing. The best security program available is Norton 360. It is Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, has active Fraud Monitoring, offers Back-up and Restore Protection, as well as Windows and Hard Drive clean up and Optimization. Another good program is WebRoot SpySweeper which you can get as just Anti-Spyware or get it with Anti-Virus too. I use both Norton 360 and WebRoot Spysweeper for a double layer of protection and I have never been infected by anything. Just remember, when running these programs to remove a threat, you need to disable Windows System Restore to prevent the virus replicating it’s self in the System Restore folder. To disable System Restore click, Start, Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, System, and then the System Restore Tab and then select Disable System Restore. Real programs like Norton 360 do not need to be run in Windows Safemode and will actually not run at all and it will tell you to just run it normally in Windows and to disable System Restore. Just make sure to disable the internet access, like unplugging the network cable, so the virus can not redownload it’s self during the scan.

As far as I am aware the only way you report this matter is to contact Yahoo themselves.
See if there is a link at this address, if it is of any help

Question by bruce b: email security. I just got a spam email re Rolex watches that appeared to come from my own yahoo email address
how is this possible and what should I do?
Best answer:
Answer by reggie
just delete it, mark as spam.
then run your virus & spyware programs, to a disk clean
these things happen
rule of thumb on e-mails
don’t know the sender-delete
very strange like what you just described- delete
nothing in the subject area-delete
only a attachment in the messege area-delete
at the following web site you can check out many fake e-mails-http://www.snopes.com
What do you think? Answer below!

Question by Extreme Pacifist: How can someone else have my exact email address if they have to register with yahoo, wouldn’t yahoo block it.
I recive about a hundred emails in my bulk folder daily. I don’t mind, I just review the bulk mail and empty the folder, but sometimes a relevant email will be in my bulk folder and I just move it to my inbox. My two questions are: 1:a) Why do I recieve so much bulk mail, and 1:b) how can I stop them ? and 2
and this is the important one) I recieve an email in my bulk folder at least once a week from tsoldo@yahoo.com, that is the exact same email as mine, and it says:
The finest Swiss Rolex watches & brand bags
Deae customer!!
Discover a wide range of hot quality Rol_ex watchs offered at discount
prices.
Among the timepieces on sale make sure to choose a top desinger’s watch
of famous brand
featuring exactly the function and style you need. Hurry up…..
Find 2007 Top designer Swiss Ro lex watches !!
GOGO http://uyrabomuy.com
so i click the link, I go to the website , and it really is replica watches, but the actual address is:
http://www.soeiejwj.com/ and the site is called Prestige Replicas.
My biggest concern is not that I am being solicited, but that someone else can have the exact same email as mine, Anyone could email anyone else using my email address and they would think it was from me, you understand?
How is this possible that someone else can have the same exact email as me? I don’t want to change my email address after all these years, but, I assume that you have the power to stop someone else from using my email address, by threatening to cancel their yahoo account. Thank you . Sincerely, Tony Soldo

1. The spammers obtain your email address from various sources. Could be mailing lists you subscribe to, anyone you gave your email address among many others. Sometimes they will use a system that creates millions of random email addresses to get through and then if you respond or click anything they know you are for real.
2. Your address is being “spoofed” there are programs out there that allow you to make it appear that it comes from someone else, in this case you. There is work in industry to clean things up so this can’t happen but it’s the nature of the beast for some time to come.
Any threats to these spammers likely won’t get through to them.
Best thing to do is to create a new account that you only share on a VERY limited term and have another account that you use to sign up for things.
