I’m going to the Philippines for the first time. I know I’m supposed to bring something, I just don’t know what, and how much. Please keep in mind that I don’t own luxury items, so don’t suggest laptops, cellphones, or gold watches (thats ridiculous).
The most I can spend on pasalubong gifts is $ 200.
THANKS!
Also, when giving cash, should it be in dollars or pesos, and how much? Can I give old (used) sweaters from American universities, or is that tacky?
I’ve decided to get my boyfriend a really nice watch for christmas. I definitely don’t want to spend more than 150, but less than 100 would be better. I’ve looked at Roots and Fossil watches, what are some other brands I should consider? Guess watches seem to all be too expensive, and not really his style.
again, I said less than 150. Not thousands of dollars.
I want to get him a watch with all the regulations that there are for him to be able to wear it every day…any one in the navy that knows the brand of watches? i think one is pathfinder??

Answer by Rabies http://www.gshock.com/products/ G-shock watches are a little pricy but so far it is the only watch that has been with my husband for 3 years now. I got a tough solar one( no bateries, there water proof and you can literarly throw the watch off a cliff and it will still work.
So im 17 and soon to graduate and looking to buy a Omega Seamaster 300m watch, now im wondering should I be buying one? I could drop the money on my laptop and pay half the financing, or just save it, but id like to buy something that I will have with me forever.
To be clear im buying pre-owned (genuine, iv seen all the papers), so its about $ 1600.
AI: I have no intent of showing off, I just have a serious intrest in automatic watches, and figure something like such may hold good value (I know Rolex holds value better but I lack $ 5000), im thinking of it more as a confidence thing, if that makes sense. But with that money I could pay half the financing on my 17″ MBP. I was originally considering buying a tough as nails tool watch, aimly a Marathon MSAR.
Kim this is what I was thinking, but so many other things I could use the money towards… Im just so uncertain.

Answer by Wilvin Buy it if you want, it is your money.
With that being said, I would probably invest the money into something a little more worthwhile. You can buy a very good $ 50 watch and save the rest of the money or spend it on something that you will be very beneficial to you in the future (like a laptop). The purpose of the watch (last time I checked), was to tell time, you need the most expensive watch to do that. It is like buying a Lexus LFA for your daily commute to work. Worst case scenario, you buy the watch and it gets stolen, damaged, or missing and your $ 1600 just goes to waste.
I currently own a Tag Heuer watch that was about 2000 and has a rubber strap. I’m looking for a watch that would be good to wear with a suit and in a corporate/office setting. Would a steel band be acceptable or should I go with leather? And I liked some breitlings, but didn’t know what other people would recommend. I’d like to keep the price under 5,000. Thanks
