Last year, we participated in a pop up flea with a multitude of other brands, giving readers a chance to buy some of the watches you see on our site everyday. If you went you also got to meet our head man, Ben Clymer, a thrill for anyone. The sale was a hit for our east coast fans, so we’ve decided to have another, this time on the other coast. Starting May 25th, HODINKEE will be teaming up with our friends at Taylor Stitch to host our second pop up shop in the great city by the bay.
That Friday through Sunday you can swing into Taylor Stitch’s shop in San Francisco’s Mission district, where you’ll find an appropriate selection of fine vintage watches from the likes of Rolex, Omega, Breitling and JLC. A small modern selection will be included as well, from d.m.h. to Xetum. What’s more, both Ben and Blake will be present to answer any questions or just engage in some watch talk.
We’ll also have a small selection of HODINKEE leather goods, so if you’ve missed them in our online shop be sure to swing in and snag one. Additionally, Taylor Sitch will have their full array of goods available, check em out right here.
So if you live in the Bay Area be sure to mark May 25, 26 and 27 on your calendar and swing in to say hi and buy a watch or two. Details you need to know:
What: HODINKEE Pop Up
When: May 25 thru 27
Where: Taylor Stitch | 383 Valencia St | San Francisco, CA | 93103
Today is an exciting day for us – it marks the opening of the HODINKEE shop, hosted right here on our fair little website. You see, a watch is a great thing, and we have always enjoyed customizing our pieces with different straps depending on how we’re feeling. So, by popular request, we’ve gone ahead and sourced a limited supply of those beautiful hand-made straps you often see on the wrists of vintage watch collectors exclusively for HODINKEE readers.
Each strap is made by hand by a single artisan in a small town in Tuscany (seriously) and due to this factor, plus the fact that he uses different cuts of leather for each style, no two straps are identical. The straps are divided into three categories: leather, distressed leather, and suede. Then, we also offer single watch travel pouches in both leather and suede, as well as a six watch travel roll. While these straps were designed with the great sport watches of the 1960s and 70s in mind, they will fit on any watch with a 19 or 20mm lug width.
All products in the HODINKEE shop are available for shipping worldwide and both PayPal and all major credit cards are accepted as payment. Again, all of these straps were made for us in a limited run, so they might not be around for long.
Well, we did it. We went ahead and popped-up at the Pop-Up Flea last weekend and I have to say, I was really pleased with how things went. Here i’ll give a little breakdown of what went on, what worked, what didn’t, and our plans for the future of HODINKEE Pop-Up shops.
I will also ask those of you who attended for feedback on what you liked and what you didn’t like, so that when we do this again, we can better serve you.
Having read "The Right Stuff" by writer, Tom Wolfe, about the life of test pilot and aviator Chuck Yeager, I did recall something about big, impressive wristwatches being a favourite among young American aviators. So I googled it up. Impressive website for a watchmaker! www.omegawatches.com/index.php?id=414 There’s no substitute for the NASA site, though: history.nasa.gov/ap11ann/introduction.htm

I am looking for the very best wig shop or wig store in the USA that sells the highest quality real human hair wigs for cancer patients. My wife Penny has lost her hair from chemotherapy and I
am very resigned with the several wig shops and hair replacement centers that have promised my wife that she was getting the best real human hair wigs that money could buy. I have found most of the wig sales people (who have also lost their hair from cancer and some from alopecia) would put on a fake smile and tell fibs about the quality of their wigs and why their wigs were the finest only to end up lasting my wife 2-3 months before the hair texture turned into an SOS pad. These wolves in sheep’s clothing have made my wife, during her chemotherapy even more devastated adding anxiety to her already spreading cancer. Our experience is like a man with Cancer buying a Rolex for $ 15,000 and finding out it is a very good replica only lasting 1 month after it falls apart. The man that sells him had cancer so he trusted him only to find that the salesperson used the cancer to just sell a fake watch. I hope all of you get what I am saying. Please answer this question only if you are able to understand what we have been through and have actually purchased a wig from the wig shop or wig store that you speak of. We both would greatly appreciate your time in helping us find the best and highest quality real human hair wigs that are the most natural looking for my wife. Thank You
My wife Penny has found Wiggin Out Wigs in Orange County and she had commented on how natural the real hair wigs looked, but we just wanted to be sure. I will not put her through another disappointment. Thank you for the quick response.

Answer by JJohnson I want you to know that I stumbled on your question and I would like you to know that I sincerely understand what your talking about. I had breast cancer 1 year ago and lost my hair from chemotherapy. I spent over $ 3,000. on a human hair wig from a wig shop that I purchased from a California company in Los Angeles. The real human hair wig that I purchased lasted 4 months. When I confronted the salesperson she coldly accused me of doing something to the wig.
I bought another real human hair wig online in New York. The sales person had lost her hair from Alopecia and claimed to be a wig designer and filled out a sheet and had me pick my color from a swatch. $ 2500.00 later the wig came back and it was the wrong shade and the hair was heavy and looked “wiggy” Needless to say I refused to pay the other half of the wig and I ended up loosing around $ 1500.00. Never again will I order a wig without seeing the hair firstly.
To make a long story short, I had spent thousands more on wigs from cad salespeople and even took a wig replacement center to court and won. The judge told the salesperson angrily ” Having cancer does not give you the right to lie cheat and steal” and ” to use your past illness to sell a defective product is unjust and dishonest.” After 1 month of internet research I came across a company in Newport Beach California called Wiggin Out Wigs. The owner is a 3rd generation wig maker and I read an article on how she shaved her own hair off for 2 years so she could test market her wigs and make the necessary design changes so her clients would have many choices of cap design based on their lifestyles. Wiggin Out Wigs also guarantees you will love your human hair wig or they remake the custom wig at their cost. I worked with them from Virginia and chose my hair and sent the mold with my measurement. I got to keep a clipping the hair that they sent me and I was able to choose from. My custom made human hair wig came back, and for the very first time, I was ecstatic and floored when I saw how beautiful the wig looked on me and just how beautiful the hair was. The lace front color blended with my skin tone exactly so the hair looked like it was growing out of my scalp. The wig has been with me for 9 months now. Looks just as beautiful as the day I received it. Beautiful virgin Caucasian real human hair that was purchased from an American Teens in Collage. Below my shoulders and has natural curl. Fine curly human hair just like my own before I lost my own hair from chemo. I have referred several others to Wiggin Out Wigs and they all have had the same experience, a wonderful experience. I know that your wife will have the same type of experience. I really hope this helps both you and your wife. You both deserve the best.
I’m travelling around Asia and would like to buy a quality watch like a tag or a IWC. In your opinion, which country gives the best deals on duty free watches?

It is a Rolex Submariner Replica with date, its in really good condition. it looks just like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?VISuperSize&item=180525618418

Answer by mxxoxoxo Pawn shops vary. You would need to go to a good one and ask. They can look the watch over and give you an estimate there. Replica might fetch you nothing.
