Put the watch next to your ear. If you hear ticking, it is a fake. Quality watches, including Rolexes, will never give any sound no matter how hard you try to listen. Another option is to break the glass as Rolexes won't break. They are made of a sapphire blend material. Listening to the tick is the safer way of checking.

It is impossible to give you a real answer without being able to examine the watch's internal and external condition.

If this is a real Rolex watch in excellent condition, that would be a great price.

It is very common for imitation Rolex watches to be sold as if they were the real thing. A good imitation is worth $60-$200 depending on its condition and appearance.

You will have to take thje watch to an expert to be sure.

If you are buying it from a well known jewelry store with a good reputation, then ask to take it to be evaluated, and take it to their competitor and ask for an evaluation. That may cost you some money, but it is worth it ($25 to be sure that a $2500 watch is in good condition?)

If you aren;t willing to do that, or if it is not from a reputable seller, My vote would be to not take the risk,
