I know a lot of people without post-graduate degrees who make over $200k working as financial/investment advisors. Why do they make so much money? Doesn't seem fair. Is it really hard work? Why is the system set up in such a way that they have such an advantage?

I went to high school with a bunch of these guys who now wear Rolex's and drive Mercedes and have apartments on Park Avenue. These guys were NOT outstanding in high school. Doesn't seem fair.

well, i don't know about your about in America but in the UK most people in finance have mostly above average grades. The reason they get payed so much ( i know this because my close friend works in finance ), is because the can work anything from 10 to 14 hour shifts and there pay is almost half ed because of taxes. Also there is and interesting fact i found out, if you work in finance for a bank you are 40% more likely to have a heart attack due to stress and tiredness. hope this has help you understand but like i said this answer is for more the UK than America. liam6505

Maria already has a contract with Tag, which is likely more expensive than Ana's contract with Rolex. The thing about Maria is, in addition to her beauty, she speaks perfect English. She makes a great spokesmodel, and that is why she is getting so much endorsement. Ana's problem is that she speaks English with a thick accent and limited vocabulary.

But yes, Ana is catching up to her. She has a winning personality, and Maria is tiring the tennis crowd with her shrieks and attitude on the court (not me though, Masha rocks!!)

Maria is far from Ivanovic… Maria is known for about 4yrs. while Ana is just starting. I don't think that there are the one to be discuss regarding catching things… Maybe it should be Ivanovic and Jankovic. Both seems to have same character, year of surge (almost)and obviously… same nation. The 1st one to win a GS will lead first…

no, she's not. maria has an american appeal than ana because she grew up in america and even speaks and behaves more as an american than a russian. as a result, she makes big bucks for the company she is endorsing because the US is still the biggest market in the world. americans just adore her. she's laughing all the way to the bank even if she loses a match.

Ana hasn't got much sponsors because she isn't american and can't commercialize the products much. She only commercializes the products in Europe and in the buyers are mostly from America.

I disagree with most of the answers here above. I think that Ana has a great chance to catch or even overcome Maria in that aspect as well. She is same, if not even more beautiful, has great personality and its only matter of time when she will attract at least as much sponsors as maria has

I don't think she's ever really going to catch up to Maria. Maria just makes SO much money from endorsements and I doubt that Ana is ever going to sign multiple huge contracts like Maria does pretty much every year. Also whenever Maria resigns contracts she gets more money for them.

Maria is Maria, she is still the top earner for Women in Sports . And she is the closet thing Americans have as their own, she is pretty much American.

Don't get me wrong, I love Ana. But lets see if she can win a Grand Slam this year.

Maria will always be bigger than Ivanovic. She came first and has more titles. Maria also has the status. 8/10 people will know who Maria Sharapova is, while only about 1/10 people will know who Ivanovic is.
