The start of a quarter peal of Grandsire Triples on the lovely bells at Ross, Herefordshire. The tenor is 20-1-4 in E flat and the bells were cast by Thomas Rudhall, with the 6th recast in 1977 by Taylors. They handle beautifully and are an excellent old octave.

I remember a classical sounding piece that begins with a slow ringing bell and then uses a soundmass type of arrangement but I can’t remember the name or composer. Little help?

Bells Across the Meadows by Arthur Ketelbey, as its title imples, begins with bells.
So does the Puccini opera Suor Angelica.
Berlioz’ Simphonie Fantastique calls for a church bell–orchestras with a modest budget use chimes instead–but not at the beginning.

So a few times a day I hear a bell coming down the street, getting louder and louder as it gets closer. It’s a grown mexican gentleman walking down the street selling lemon pops & bell ringing out of this very small freezer/wagon. Can he do this? Should I ask to see a permit? I think he could be creepy to kids.

Our 7 month old has easily learned to ring the bell when he has to go potty, but now he’s using it to just go outside. I’m stuck on the discipline action here.

He’s basically using it for attention, but I’m telling you he doesn’t lack it at all. The last thing I want to do is punish him for ringing the bell, even though he just came back in.
He runs 4-5 days a week and I also am training him to retrieve, so it’s more about getting inside his head to let him know it’s not ok to go outside on his terms.
And yes, he’s always on some sort of lead when he’s outside, even for bathroom and training.

Best answer:

Answer by Carly 2
he loves being outside! maybe take him out more often and play with him out there instead of just taking him out to use the bathroom. Dogs need exercise too.

Bell & Ross Question&Answer:

Question by Malevolence

Lately, I’ve noticed that when they are preparing the bread and wine, they ring a bell every time the priest holds them up one at a time. I find that a little annoying since it breaks the silence and concentration of those praying. This started no longer than a year ago and its spreading to other parishes. Why do they have that now?

Best answer:

Answer by DON’T GO THERE GIRLFRIEND!
to call the devil to join and have a good time.

I’ve turned off all sounds for windows in the sounds tab in the control panel and yet I hear a bell ringing sound every so often on my computer. I don’t have any programs open or music on except sometimes aim but even after signing off it still goes off. Any ideas? And I hope it’s not some kind of strange virus!

Best answer:

Here’s a wild guess: you use a sidebar application and one of your sidebar gadgets is an alarm or “reminder” tool that makes that mystery sound every so often :)
