The late Harry Winston was an American jeweler who started his business at a young age and quickly became known for owning diamonds and jewelry that only the extremely wealthy can afford. In the late 1980s, years after Harry Winston had passed on and his son had taken over, the company introduced timepieces that continued the tradition of high quality craftsmanship that was seen with its other jewels. The timepieces combined dependable Swish watchmaking with beautiful features. The brand has gone on to make watches that have been groundbreaking in their creativity and innovation. Like its other jewels, the Harry Winston watches are authentic, luxurious, and beautifully made.

From the renowned Opus series to the iconic Avenue and Premier collections, Harry Winston has been consistently making watches that exceed expectations. It has now crafted a limited edition timepiece called the Project Z6 Black Edition. The watch case, which measures 44 millimeters in diameter, is made from zalium, which is a combination of zirconium and aluminum, and it is coated with diamond like carbon. This metal along with its coating gives the watch an increased strength, durability, and toughness.

This one of a kind watch is sporty and impressive to look at. It has a mechanical movement with manual winding and up to 72 hours power reserve. Its thick wrist straps are made of black rubber. Inside the case, you will notice an open dial that allows one to see the hammer of the alarm clock, which is specially developed for Project Z6. Yes, this watch has an alarm clock! The clock comes with an on and off cue to control the alarm, which is one of its several unique features. It is covered by a sapphire crystal for great protection. You will notice the logo scribbled at the 1 o’clock position and a day/night indicator at the 11 o’clock position. The watch has hour, minute, and small second hands and black Arabic numerals as hour marks. This timepiece is also water resistant for up to 100 meters.

Pros

Dial with day and night indicator

24-hour alarm clock with an on/off cue to control alarm

Screw down crown

Water resistant to 100 meters

Cons

Limited amount

Big watch for those who prefer small watches

This Harry Winston Project Z6 Black Edition timepiece is versatile and will look good in variety of outfits. This unique timepiece is quite fascinating and a great investment if you can get your hands on one.

This link was to the thread about the authors house. www.abovetopsecret.com Which was a very interesting thread because it was walking you through the process that took place, up until his house was demolished. Luckily, because of these good people, cgi.rumormillnews.com it can be proven that the thread existed, because if they had not copied it, most people wouldnt know that it did. Now, on the other hand, this alone, since the rest of the thread is gone, might make one wonder if what he said about his house was made up. I mean where is the proof, anybody could say these things, and this is where it gets good. I copy and paste links to research when I run out of time and I found one of the links in my saved files. www.freewebs.com I wish I had the others, because it had some really good information, but this one shows how he complied and got the proper permits. Then shows how they reneged on what they said after he had spent a large sum of money to comply. Project X Designs created two DLC Rolex Sea-Dweller ref.16600 watches for Sir Roger Moore in 2009 and named it the Sir Roger Moore Edition. This customized watch is now up for auction at Christie’s (lot 181) on the 14th of November 2011 and the entire result will be donated to UNICEF of which Sir Roger Moore is an ambassador. The other Sir Roger More Edition (which is a Rolex Submariner) will remain in his own collection of watches.

Rolex Sea-Dweller 16600 Roger Moore Edition

As you can see, a typical ref.16600 Sea-Dweller, but with some very cool modifications like the Diamond Like Carbon coating, including a DLCed luminous dot, or pearl as some refer to it. Furthermore, it features a dial with double red printing, such as the vintage ref.1665 Double Red Sea-Dwellers had in the 1970s. The watch is being delivered on a nato strap, with military fixed bars to keep it safe and in place.

The case back of this watch has been engraved with the Sir Roger Moore Special Edition 02/02 wording and numbering. Besides the customized Sea-Dweller, you will receive its original box and paper work by Rolex. A Project X Designs certificate of customization signed by Sir Roger Moore, a Project X Designs watch roll, hang tag and guarantee card, a signed copy of Sir Roger Moore’s autobiography and a signed photo of Sir Roger Moore in his days as James Bond (007). This Rolex Sea-Dweller with original serial number V444660 is probably being hunted at by a lot of Rolex collectors and Bond aficionados. More in-depth information about the ref.16600 Rolex Sea-Dweller can be found here, an article I wrote in 2009.

Sir Roger Moore featured as James Bond seven (or 007) times. He started his career as Bond in Live and Let Die in 1973, followed by: The Man With the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983) and ended with A View To A Kill (1985).

We love watches, and we assume you do to. Here is a rare chance to direct that love towards a charity AND get a new watch. The concept is simple, doctors that work in third world environments need a reliable watch. They don’t have wall clocks, stop timers, or necessarily even cell phones while many medical procedures require the ability to reference passing time (checking pulse, timing medications, recording/tracking time). A new charity called Human Time Project looks to leverage watch buyers to fund the process of getting a reliable timepiece on the wrists of hard working medical professionals all over the world. So what is in it for you? First, the warm fuzzy feeling you will get from helping out. Second, a watch! For the total price of $ 95 USD, Human Time Project will send you a watch and send one to a doctor. This is the same social mechanism that made me buy my first pair of TOMS shoes some three years ago. You get a watch, and they send one to a doctor in need. Seems like a win-win to us.

The watch is pretty nice looking too, a 46mm  field watch which boasts a quartz movement, 50m water resistance, and a PVD finish. The design is apparently the product of input from medical professionals in the field and from the SAINZ watch company who is producing the watch. The HTP 1 looks to be legible, simple and reliable.  In addition, the HTP 1 has a canteen style crown protector and comes on your choice of a tan, green, orange, or black nato strap. That is an impressive package considering you are getting two watches for $ 95 and one of them will make a doctor’s life somewhat easier.

We ordered ours today and should have it on wrist for live photos by the end of year (release is slated for December 16th). We think one of these could make for a great christmas gift or maybe the ideal beater, so head over to their website and order an HTP 1 today and be sure to follow the project on twitter: @humantimeprojct.

We’ve shown you doctor’s watches before but today we’re bringing you a decidedly different kind. And while this one may not be collectible or feature a classic movement, it may just save more lives than all the rest.

We sometimes forget that timekeeping is a necessity for physicians and nurses, whether it’s to take a pulse, time labor contractions, make detailed records or keep appointments. And while watches and clocks are often taken for granted in most places, in war-torn regions or in poor countries, access to a simple wristwatch can mean the difference between life and death. That’s what inspired Los Angeles-based watch enthusiast, Gustavo Saiz, to start The Human Time Project, with partner, Ben Rodriguez.

The Human Time Project’s mission is to put watches on the wrists of health care workers in rural, poor countries in South and Central America, Asia and Africa. After meeting with international health officials, Saiz discovered that one of the tools doctors and nurses are lacking in many of these regions is a simple wristwatch. So Saiz set out to create an affordable, sturdy watch that could be provided to these health care workers. The result is the HTP 1, a retro canteen-style quartz-powered PVD-coated watch on a NATO strap.

The way the Human Time Project works is, you buy an HTP 1 and they will donate one of the same watches to healthcare workers in need. The watch is only $ 95 ($ 85 pre-order for the first 200) and will be available after December 16th with distribution to those in need beginning in 2012.

To find out more about the project, check out the Human Time Project’s Website.

Question by Haley Smith

i have to do a project for u.s. history, and the only guidelines are that it had to have taken place between 1763-1860 and has to deal with history (obviously). my teacher is really cool, so i think it’ll be fine with him(considering he thought i should do it over the history of capital punishment) and if he says anything about it, Andrew Jackson had visited the place where the bell which was, but i just wanted someone else’s opinion.

Best answer:

Answer by Nightwind: Mwa ha ha!
If the topic is really that open, it should be fine, presuming you can find enough sources on your subject. You should probably identify potential sources before you commit to the topic.

The fact that Jackson visited the location really has no relevance here.

Just like last year, Dutch watch photographer sBmRnR is working on a watch calendar for 2012 (see last year’s post on his calendar). This time, you are able to follow the process of making the watch calendar. sBmRnR is keeping track of all photo shoots, watches that he used for the calendar and used equipment on his Facebook page.

Rolex Day-Date with President bracelet

Last Thursday, we had a small meeting – including a perfectly arranged BBQ by our host sBmRnR – and witnessed how some of the calendar photos came into existance. One of the other visitors created a report of this meeting on his own blog, please visit Boris Pjanic’s report of that day.

Visit the Watch Calendar Facebook page by clicking the link. Since a few days, Fratellowatches is also on Facebook with a dedicated page, make sure to give it a visit as well and click Like: http://www.facebook.com/Fratellowatches
