Bold. Iconic. Meticulous. Louis Vuitton has long embodied the ideals of strong design principles tempered with a keen editing eye. The 2012 Louis Vuitton Tambour Regatta America’s Cup Watch maintains the Louis Vuitton dedication to artistry and combines it with a modern-day sportiness, just in time for the American World Cup regatta race, due to take place in San Diego in November 2012.

The first Louis Vuitton watch to celebrate the sailing races, the 2012 Regatta watch is part of the Tambour line—Louis Vuitton’s section of urban causal watches. With the fun, bright color combination set against the backdrop of the world-renowned sailing races, this watch more than fulfills the line’s dream of quality casual pieces.
The timepiece captures the thrill of the sailing races with a bold black with red color scheme. Add blue accents and an added detail of a tiny white trophy above the words “America Cup,” and the watch celebrates—but doesn’t scream—its appreciation of the renowned race.
The durable black rubber and firm buttons add to the feeling of sportiness, but the clean lines of the timepiece keep this watch looking stylish. With just a touch of playfulness in the asymmetrical design of the chronograph dials and the two-toned hands, the timepiece captures the ease of a breezy day by the sea.
The watch features anti-reflective sapphire dial window and is waterproof up to 100 meters—perfect for those fans who want to keep track of the time without the sun or elements interfering. The rubberized case only serves to make the watch more resilient during outdoor activities.

The timepiece will be released in two versions, in quartz and in a more limited—and more exclusive—automatic function. Whether a quartz or automatic movement LV171, this watch is sure to be accurate as all Louis Vuitton products are extraordinarily meticulous in the detail work of their products.
The chronograph function is sure to come in handy for those who enjoy tracking the times on their own, while the 42 hour power reserve means you won’t have to waste time caring for the watch. The buttons are large and easy to manipulate, making it that much easier to stay with the times—and on time, of course.
The watch is a limited edition, so you’ll have to scramble for the Louis Vuitton Tambour Regatta America’s Cup Watch if you want to catch one before it sails away.

Does it get any better than the Cartier tank? No, it simply does not.  I mean, the watch is as iconic as they come, and has been worn by everyone from General Pershing in 1918 to Clark Gable in 1948 to Muhammed Ali for many years.  And this year, not only did Cartier introduce an entirely new case design for the Tank (which we’ll show you in the coming days), they also brought in a new model within the Louis Cartier family, the Louis Cartier Tank XL Slimline.

The original Louis Cartier Tank (or “Tank L.C.”) line was introduced in 1922 as “the ultimate watchmaker’s manifesto of elegance and timelessness.”  This year, the Louis Cartier Tank XL gets a sleek profile, which Cartier is calling slimline, and a wonderful ultra-thin hand-wound movement.  The movement is in fact Piaget’s fantastic 430.

The Tank Louis Cartlier XL Slimline is available in pink gold on a brown alligator strap and is in fact the slimmest watch in the Cartier collection.  The watch is supremely elegant, and perfectly executed.  This is the watch many of us have been waiting for – a handsome, traditional tank from Cartier with a mechanical movement.  Price is set to be $ 14,200.

Question by

First of all, it’s not Pierre Cardin, it’s Louis Cardin.

While shopping for a new watch, I have came across an AMAZING watch. I only hesitated to buy it when I saw it’s brand( louis cardin). I can not find that brand online, and I do not know what is the price range for these watches.

Please tell me if you have any Idea how much do these watches cost.

Best regards, and thanks for help in advance.

They were a knock-off brand that tried to make low end watches (mostly Quartz, as far as I know) in the middle east. They called themselves Swiss, but unless I’m mistaken, they were not “true” Swiss watches [1]. A quick search would indicate that they are called “Swiss Precision”, which makes since since they probably were not eligible to call their watches Swiss Made (they probably sourced some of their parts or licensed their movements from a Swiss watch manufacturer).

As far as I know, they went out of business a while ago (say, 10+ years ago?). You may still run into their watches, but I don’t believe they are particularly great or reliable.

Given that they are also a now defunct company, you would have no warranty and would run the risk of not being able to find parts should something go wrong.

So, when you say that you saw an amazing watch, I am guessing you’re talking about aesthetics (i.e. a watch whose style you liked) rather than a good quality of construction? I’m sure there are plenty of other watches of similar style and probably good quality construction. Good luck.

I am trying to find authentic louis vuitton for a resonable price. I watched a video that said luxury.com was the only website authorized by Louis Vuitton to sale real Louis. I need a real Artsy GM Louis Vuitton at a ot so crazy price! Any ideas?

Best answer:

Answer by Jenn C
I think you’re linking of eLUXURY.com. The website shut down because it was owned by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy), the holding company that houses luxe brands like Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Givenchy, etc.

Essentially, when Louis Vuitton opened their e-commerce store recently (in 2009, I believe?), E-Lux shut down because though they sold different brands, their most popular brand was Louis Vuitton. At the time when eLUX was still operating, they were the only reputable website to purchase LV goods without the risk of purchasing fake. Since they’ve closed down, the only website to purchase authentic LV products without the risk of getting a fake is Louisvuitton.com.

eLUX never sold LV products at a discount, and neither does louisvuitton.com. You’re best bet to find one at a somewhat discounted price is E-bay, though you risk buying a fake, even though the seller might seem reputable. Also, even real, already used Louis Vuitton bags don’t sell for much below the retail value unless there is noticeable damage to the bag.

Beware of purchasing from any other website other than Louisvuitton.com or E-Bay. Literally almost all other websites that claim to sell authentic bags are fraudulent. There are plenty of articles online you can research on this. Don’t be had. Your chances of getting an authentic $ 2000 bag for $ 1000 or less are pretty much unheard of.

I know that the Artsy GM is gorgeous, but how about a similar, more affordable bag like the Neverfull MM or Delightful Monogram MM? Both are about half the price of the Artsy.

Honestly, if you can, you’re better off purchasing from the Louis Vuitton website or a Louis Vuitton boutique. That way you’ll have peace of mind knowing your bag is new and 100% authentic. I’d recommend going into a boutique if you can. that way to get the full experience. Hope I helped & good luck with your search!

You never know what we’ll run into.  Last time we found a Vulcain Cricket with a Presidential seal on the dial, and this time we have a watch shared by two 20th century musical greats.

This triple calendar chronograph from Wittnauer is a pretty cool looking watch.  Nice dial, great complications, hell it even uses a Valjoux 72(c) movement, the same caliber that was used in the early Daytonas, and most other great chronos of the period.  But, the real magic of this piece is revealed when you turn it over.

Etched into the case back in the inscription “Slim From Louie Prima”.  Louie Prima or “Louis Prima” was, as you may know, a musician that started with a big band, moved onto swing, and eventually turned to jazz and pop in the 1950s and 60s.  His music has been featured in Mad Dog and Glory, Big Night, Anger Management, Mickey Blue Eyes, The Sopranos, Casino, Swingers, Kicking and Screaming, Elf, Swing Kids, and Analyze This in recent years.  He even won a grammy or two.

And who did Mr. Prima give this triple calendar chrono to? None other than another performer of the same era, Slim Gaillard.  Slim was a true jazz man who played with Charlie Parker, Dizzie Gilespie, and Cab Calloway.  It is unknown on what occasion this watch was presented, but for any fan of jazz, big band, or mid 20th century popular music, this is a watch with a great story.
