Every time you think of Puma watches, the brand wants you to think of the environment and then it wants you to act Green with all of your everyday activities.
As the world becomes a smaller place it is also illuminating issues that affect us all. Puma realized this years ago and made a pledge to turn its brand into an ecological proponent. Not a minor undertaking considering the brands global footprint and extensive product line. A study conducted in 2009 confirmed that consumers would prefer ‘Green’ packaging compared to convenience. In 2011 it has become a major trend to be ‘Eco-friendly’ and statistics prove that consumers are showing a preference toward companies like Puma that are environmentally driven.
Puma 'Cardiac II' Watch
By the time you read this article, Puma will have already altered the way it packages its shoe line from the traditional cardboard box to “The Clever Little Bag” which will use 65 percent less cardboard that designer Yves Behar was credited with inventing. This innovative way to package was chosen from a pool of 2000 submitted. Matt Powell a Princeton Retail Analyst said “This idea fits the psycho-graphic of the Puma customer, it’s hip and green at the same time.” Puma has pledged to be ‘carbon neutral’ by the end of 2012 which will offset the company co2 footprint. The company is also concerned about their clients health and developed a new ‘Cardiac II’ line of watches which feature a built in heart rate monitor, lap counter, water resistant to 50 meters and even comes equipped to display the expenditure of calories.
Puma's "The Clever Little Bag"
Puma has established itself as an innovator since the company began. In 1990 it welcomed a new CEO and Chairman, Jochen Zeitz, who had a vision that Puma would not only be globally renowned for its brand but for its sincere preservation efforts. Since 2006, Puma has substantially reduced toxic waste and continues to improve its overall impact. In 2012 Puma will be releasing a report that ‘monetizes the company impact on the environment.’ It hopes this type of transparency will aid in the education of global awareness and how to improve their own overall environmental signature. Mr. Zeitz is now the Chief Sustainability Officer for Puma’s parent company PPR, SA. He recently stated “I am personally looking forward to seeing how Puma will use this new knowledge to further decrease their environmental impact in the coming years.”

Sometimes the store has them on sale and I want to stock up. How is the best way to store them? Also – if I were to dice them up along with onion to use in recipes, how long would they last cut up?

I just leave mine on the counter or in the frige, but you are wanting a bunch at once….If you dice them up with onions you could put them in freezer bags and freeze them. You buy raw veggies in bags in the frozen foods for stir fry or whatever so I’m guessing that would be fine. You could also can them if you know how to do that.
By the way…did you know that the red pepper you pay more money for is just a green pepper that turned red? They turn red after they are green for awhile.
