When Steve Jobs first introduced the latest iPod Nano he made a reference to the device’s potential use as a wrist watch thanks to a built in clock interface. This idea took hold with both the technophiles and watch nerds among us and has taken on a market all its own (remember this project?), heck even Apple has indulged us with their own (interesting) take on dial designs. It makes sense then that Australian designer Edwin Conan took this a step further with his iPocketWatch concept that he is currently trying to get off the ground with your help.

Conan’s prototype is currently on display at Pozible, Australia’s version of Kick-Starter. His industrial designs put a contemporary spin on the centuries old platform. The body structure is crafted from aircraft grade aluminum and comes with either square or round openings. Tethered to the case is a linked chain ready to tackle daily wear duties. Edwin ponders the traditional pocket watch:

They are beautiful instruments without a doubt, but aren’t they just a bit too old, too vintage, too out of date, too complicated, too last century, or even, too the-century-before-last-century? Well, not anymore.

The iPocketWatch concept has a goal of raising A$ 6,000 ($ 6,385 USD) and has thus far earned about half of that, with A$ 2,782. If you’d like to see this become a reality, head over to the projects page at Pozible, where you can make a donation and read all about the inspiration or this project.

IWC Question&Answer:

Question by The Clown Prince of Crime

I know, Wade Barrett is hardly a small name in WWE nowadays. But the hate this possible match receiving from IWC is beyond unbelievable.

IMO, it’s his ability and name. For four years, Taker went against the great stars. Batista, Edge and HBK. the magnitude is in ascending order. Four years is a big time and since Taker is about to retire, the only option bigger than all remains is Cena. This match will be the biggest match in terms of hype and magnitude that our generation has seen. Something even bigger than Rock vs. Hogan for many. Cena is one of the biggest stars ever, and Taker is probably the biggest draw of all time considering his consistency. Thats why we badly want to happen.

Wade Barret is THE future of WWE. I mean it. That guy has all the tools to succeed. But one thing that creates a doubt in my mind is his finisher. In a Wrestlemania match, where taker has never been down for 3 seconds, Wasteland is just too lame. People want to make themselves anxious about the streak, but Wade does not create that anxiety.

And I see that the event won’t get quite as many buys and buildup as Undertaker is the biggest Wrestlemania draw.

If Giant Gonzalez can face Undertaker at Wrestlemania, then I have no problem with Wade Barrett facing him.

IWC Question&Answer:

Question by THE BOTTOM LINE!!!

If you talk wresting online, aren’t you a part of the “IWC”?…if that’s the case WWE fans do the same, they talk wrestling online, whether it’s here or on WWE.com at the WWE Universe forums.

Or is it that wrestling fans that soley like Independent wrestling are labeled the “IWC”? Aren’t those just Independent wrestling fans? WWE fans talk wrestling online too, so how are they not regarded as “IWC”?

Is the term, Internet Wrestling Community really valid today, since most wrestling fans, whether WWE or Independent fans, have internet today and talk wrestling somewhere online?

I thought once you start talking wrestling online you’re a part of the IWC, in which case every user in the WS is a part of the IWC, Indy wrestling fan or not.

Best answer:

Answer by Truly Phenomenal (The Colony)
Anyone who uses the internet to talk about wrestling is a part of IWC.

Fans of the Independent scene should not solely be labeled as the “IWC”. From what I know, there’s a LOT more WWE fans than fans of any promotion from the Independent scene whether its this website or some other forum. There are different kinds of opinions and views on the internet that shapes the IWC. One might be a WWE fan, another might be a TNA fan, and someone else might be a fan of foreign or independent promotions. In the end, we’re all on the internet expressing our thoughts and opinions. That makes ALL of us a part of the IWC in my opinion.

Having a computer with internet is pretty much basic in almost any household. I would say the term IWC is valid since many wrestling fans all come on the internet at one point or another.

Any fan that talks about wrestling online IS a part of the IWC. If IWC means internet wrestling community, doesn’t that mean every wrestling fan on the internet?

Question by WWE RULZZ!!! (HOF Edition)

I don’t see a point. IWC should not care about his personal life. Let him has his personal life and live yours. He is only there to entertain us and how does his personal life make him a bad wrestler?

Only the fact that he has to switch wrestling companies due to his personal issues?
or the fact that he botches because high flying moves can’t be executed perfectly without botches?

He has entertained each and every wrestling fan for years and he deserves some respect!

Best answer:

Answer by acidBURN
It’s because he lets his personal life affect his contributions to whichever wrestling promotion he’s with. I mean, come on…last year he got a nuclear push on WWE to main event and WHC title…only to bail, get caught with drugs and then goes over to TNA (where there is no wellness policy) and starts bashing WWE. One of the earlier times he was let go of WWE due to refusal to go to rehab…well he then went to TNA – only to get released in 2003 because of no-showing events and “erratic” behavior. There has been talk that he’s starting to show concerning behavior again over at TNA.

So honestly, I just got tired of backing a guy who doesn’t respect himself enough to stay clean and out of trouble…esp when there are way more in WWE, TNA and so many other promotions who do what it takes to put out the best they possibly can. What I don’t understand is why folks continue to enable him…go ahead and claim that he deserves respect blah blah blah but the truth is he doesn’t respect you…or himself enough to stick with the program.

Question by ganicity

the purpose of this paper is to review a specific treatment model or approach

College students binge drink for many reasons, which results in long-term health risks. Many college students binge drink in order to fit in with fraternity, sororities members, and/or dormitories that sometimes insists on having young college students to drink especially lots of types of alcoholic drinks. College students drink a variety of alcoholic beverages from light to heavy alcoholic beverages that increase health risks and psychological health risks. Treatments such as motivational interviewing can help lessen the consumption of alcohol and allow the college students who binge drink to slowly recover from this disease they have developed of binge drinking. Means comparisons indicated that both groups showed reductions in alcohol-related problems, however, only the Motivational Interviewing sample evidenced significant reductions in binge drinking (Feldstein, S., & Forcehimes, A., 2007). Misuse of alcohol can lead to a wide range of consequences, the most severe being alcohol abuse, dependence, and death (Devos-Comby, L. & Lange, J., 2008). The median number of drinks in a row that a college man or women must have to be called a binge drinker is 6 for a man and 5 for a woman (Wechsler, H., & Kuo, M. (2000).
Treatments such as motivational interviewing can benefit specifically college students who drink alcohol in sororities or fraternities that, binge drink. Binge drinking is a common problem that many college students are facing throughout their college lives. There are many alcoholic specific treatments that offer a wide range of help to allow those who suffer from binge drinking to be able to recovery from the alcoholic abuse.
There are a couple of successful ways in which binge drinking can be helped. Findings show that more education and provision of coping skills training during treatment may influence self-efficacy by increasing the coping resources of a patient with SUD (McKellar, Ilgen & Moos, 2008).
The present findings suggest that individuals who report the greatest initial improvements in alcohol-related problems and impulsivity may have difficulty maintaining a high level of self-efficacy (McKellar, Ilgen & Moos, 2008). One brief intervention, motivational interviewing (MI) has shown efficacy in reducing alcohol-related problems in college samples (Feldstein, S., & Forcehimes, A., 2007). When compared with MI, other interventions have also reduced student drinking, necessitating the inclusion of a control condition when evaluating
MI (Feldstein, S., & Forcehimes, A., 2007). While participants reported feeling increased discrepancy from their peers and increased desire to reduce drinking, no behavior change emerged (Feldstein, S., & Forcehimes, A., 2007).

Alcohol students encounter binge drinking due to a form of social entertainment with other college students. Alcohol is the main factor in which students have no control since the process to reduce alcohol consumption is a difficult process. Some types of treatments to consider for alcoholic students are detoxification. Also college students have a hard time in understanding themselves.
There are many factors that contribute to alcohol such as society, pressure, and stress. As a college student, alcohol is a way to release the negativity of life and just use alcohol as a mean to numb the pain one goes through. In order to understand what treatment is best for oneself several steps should be considered to see which treatment is best for one. Consideration of selection and socialization effects is central to understanding how substance use relates to fraternity, and sorority membership (McCabe, Schulenberg, Johnston, O’Malley, Bachman & Kloska, 2005).

There are college students who already started to drink and therefore want to become associated with sororities or fraternities in order to drink more excessively without limitations. Undergraduate students who are heavy drinkers before starting college may tend to select specific fraternities and sororities with a reputation for ‘partying’ and heavy drinking; In turn, being a member of such fraternities or sororities serves to increase their heavy drinking (McCabe, S., Schulenberg, J., Johnston, L., O’Malley, P., Bachman, J., & Kloska, D. (2005).
The lack of a significant interaction between gender and group membership indicates that the brief intervention resulted in comparable drinking reductions in women and men (Borsari & Carey, 2000). One of the treatments that are used with college binge drinking students is brief motivational interviewing. First, the interviewer helped the student review personal alcohol use in the past month, which was then compared with both campus and national norms (Borsari & Carey, 2000).
College students binge drink for numerous reasons. In the context of substance use, an individual can use drugs or alcohol as an avoidance strategy to try to reduce dis

It depends on your academic level. But if you’re 16 just like me, I’d give this a B grade. You did fulfill the basic requirements of the question, however you tend to get a bit repetitive about college students and binge drinking. Perhaps you can add some creativity into your essay to make it more engaging, as well as being informative at the same time.

The series Smallville contains several symbols – some are modified and this one I mentioned is found in Season four of the series. It means something related to water and transformation, however, it has some dissonances… I wish somebody could help me with that. it is one of the things I want to incorporate in one of my articls at: http://www.warmetal.org

I do thank in advance and of course, if the answers lead me to the right conclusion, I will surely mention the name(s) of the person (those) involved.

By the way, I have already dissected some points in Smallville and other themes in the same site, for those who wish to check them out.
