Question by Murphy R : Watches, Thick/Heavy (Quality) Any brands, names etc.?
Hello, and thank you for taking a look at my question.
Well, this is my question, recently my brother has taken a liking to quality watches, and I mean he has become fascinated witintricacy’scacies and inner-workings of fine time pieces. I too have an affinity for good watches, Patek, Rolex, etc, however I don’t have the money to buy one LOL.
Anyways, my brother’s birthday is coming up, he will be 22 and have just graduated with his degree in biomedical chemistry (YAY), and I wanted to get him a nice watch as kind of a job well done. This is my dilemma, he gave me a kind of criteria for the type of watches he likes, needless to say, internet searches have been rather unsuccessful, so I figured I would try my luck here on Yahoo Answers and see how I do.
My brother likes really thick and heavy watches. His thing is stainless steel, no gold, no two tones, nothing like that, just your basic stainless steel. The closest thing I’ve found to his liking was in a local jewelry store called Finks®. They sold a particular brand of watches there I rather liked myself called Brietling, the watch I found that I figured was similar to what my brother liked was the Superocean. It was thick and heavy, but not thick and heavy enough.
So, any help would be greatly appreciated. My price limit is $ 2,500.00, and again, the watch needs to be as thick and heavy as possible. So, any sites, links, or brands and such would be much appreciated. Thank you very much for you time!
(P.S.) what are some of the heaviest, thickest watches that are made?

One of my favorite new watch lines that came out last year. I love these dive watches. Sottomarino is Italian for submarine and they give that same look and feel. Very heavy, thick, well made beautiful watches. Prices ranging in $ 200 – $ 500.
