If you’re looking for a watch that will eclipse the competition, you need look no further than the Jaquet Droz Eclipse Onyx Watch. With a strikingly simple, yet incredible elegant approach to watch making, Jaquet Droz has crafted a watch as stunning as the sun itself.
Jaquet Droz understands that fantastic quality comes from fantastic materials—and proves it with their choice of using onyx for the dial. The smooth texture of the onyx is mirrored by the polished stainless steel casing and hands.

The designers opted for marking days as the month for the indices instead of the standard hours and minutes markings, but the watch is still easy to read as it is free from an over-abundance of clutter on the dial itself.
The weekday and month appear in the top half of the watch and a simple etching of the moon and stars grace the bottom half of the watch. The design has an unconventional watch function: it serves as a moon phase indicator as well as a pleasing design.
It is the little details that really make the watch stand out. Perhaps the most enchanting element of the timepiece is the serpentine hand with a sliver of a moon fixed to its edge pointing to the corresponding day of the month. Where in some designs, the curving hand might have been hokey, the delicate work adds a quiet elegance for the piece.

The black alligator leather strap ties the piece back in with the onyx stone and makes the silver shine even more brightly against the darker background.
The watch is functional as well as beautiful. With a complex Jaquet Droz Calibre 6553LZ movement and a whopping 68-hour power reserve, the package does not eclipse the functionality of the watch itself.
This watch is a unique little piece. The slight deviations from standard watches, such as the date markings around the dial and the serpentine hand add interesting twists to the piece without distracting from the stark onyx and the beautiful simplicity of the design. And yet, in spite of all its twists, the watch still possesses a classic beauty that charms the wearer.
For a watch channels the distant regal bearing of the moon with down-to-earth functionality, this watch has it all. The Jaquet Droz Eclipse Onyx Watch takes its place among the all-stars of luxury designs not with over-hyped construction, but a striking simplicity that dazzles.

Question by meg
I love Edward!!! Jacob is kind of rude and gets in the way of everything. That is just my opinion, but I’m curious to see what others think. Oh and please don’t say anything that could give away something in Breaking Dawn, because I am reading that now. Thank You.
Answer by My Little Happily Ever After
I see where you are coming from, but I kind of enjoyed the conflict. It made things interesting.
