One of the more impressive watches to come out of Basel this year came not from the quiet cantons of Switzerland, but rather from none other than the quintessential Japanese brand, Seiko.

The Seiko Astron is a Solar GPS watch and takes its name from the Seiko Astron of 1969, the worlds first quartz watch (which got a very cool reissue recently) . Invoking the Astron name isn’t (just) convenient marketing on Seiko’s behalf; the Astron of 2012 is a worthy successor to its groundbreaking namesake.

What makes this watch special is a low energy GPS receiver that means that this watch can talk to GPS satellites to determine the time and date on its own. The receiver in the watch gets a signal from at least 4 satellites to accurately update the time, one a day, and in every timezone on earth. How this works in the real world is the really cool part. You step off a plane, hit the button and in about six seconds your watch will have synchronised the time from satellites (the indicator at 10 tells you how many). Once it’s worked out the time, it will take another 30 seconds to automatically adjust the time for you. It’s easy to see why this watch would be a boon for jetsetting types.

I want a nice watch but I don’t want to buy a very expensive one like the Tag, Omega, etc.

Other than those top brands, I don’t know much about other affordable brands. Is the quality just as good?

I saw some watches from Kenneth Cole which look alright.

What brand do you recommend?

I got my husband a Kenneth Cole 3+ years ago and he wears it every day! It is stylish, inexpensive and obviously lasts!!
Online shopping is also a good way to find deals!

Granted the match may not be as bad a** as any of Taker’s last 4 WM, but it would still be memorable like Hogan vs Vince at WM 19 or Vince vs HBK at WM 22.

Vince is obviously a far bigger threat than Barrett, Jackson, and Corre (not to mention far bigger name and credibility as well). And it’s not a feud that has been overdone like against Kane. And seeing how Taker vs Barrett/Jackson/Corre is badly received by at least 90% IWC, revealing Vince as Nexus’ true leader and the one who ordered the attack at Bragging Rights.

Taker vs Vince at WM 27, and then Taker vs The Corre from Backlash to Summerslam sounds pretty good for me. None of The Corre member is worthy enough to follow Batista, Edge, and Shawn Michaels twice, so why not having the owner of the biggest sports entertainment company to be added, right?

And if we’re gonna see a squash match from Undertaker at Wrestlemania 27, I’d rather see it against someone with legendary name than a rookie who isn’t guaranteed to last.

Now before I start……I’m a HUGE die hard Cena Fan and ALWAYS will be………..which is why I wish he’d……………….go………….only for a long while…………. a VERY long while…………………..I know it be hard for him because he LOVES what he does……..BUT mabie if he just left for a while………………a LONG while…………..people would start loving him again instead of treating him like shit……..I mean fuck the rock after a while I’m tired of people treating John Cena like he’s litterly nothing and like he litterly doesn’t matter…………..I love John Cena and I do feel bad for him……….I don’t think a heel turn would be a good idea………………coz lets face it guys, the IWC are not happy with anything. Atleast he’s loved by girls and kids now……….I guess thats better than nothing……….I mean a heel turn would just make him hated by everyone……..EXCEPT me and other TRUE cena fans out there. But, still, tho I stand by him face OR heel, I don’t think a heel turn would do the trick………..I think him going away for a while would be better…………sure it won’t be the same without him…and I would miss him dearly, but as a true cena fan, it hurts me seeing him treated like shit….I know he doesn’t care what people think……..but what if it does get to him……sometimes….I mean I have a friend who met him once and she told me that when she told him how much she supports him bigtime, he smiled and was like thank u and support from fans do mean alot….so he does cherish support…………that should tell u right there the hate does get to him sometimes….and yes she had proof she met him too with a picture and everything. She told me he’s very nice in real life. Other Cena Fans out there, please don’t bash me coz I’m just like you……but are you not tired of all the cena hate? I know it won’t be the same without him…it suck without him in MY opionion (no bashing cena haters!) And yes I know all us cena fans would miss him but….just think upon him returning mabie after a couple years……….just think about all the love he will have…………(:

i have a pair of sport medicine boots for my tennessee walker, size mediums, and a pair of pro. choice bell/overreach boots in large. i can’t seem to fit the sport boots and the bells together. separate they fit fine, but they don’t fit correctly together. the bells won;t wrap around and velcro cause the overlap the sport boots. any help on this?

We’ve all done things we aren’t particularly proud of, like that mullet in the 80′s, an eyebrow peircing in college, and maybe even an unsightly tattoo at the bottom of your back. We’ve found a gentleman whose lapse in judgement has resulted in one of the most unfortunate tattoo’s any horological enthusiast will likely ever behold. If you find the act of wearing a diamond dialed Rolex mildly offensive, surely the sight of one permantently emblazoned on the wrist will put you over the edge. 

Adding insult to injury, the watch is not set to 10:10, but rather, in what is surely a coincidence, 4:20. Let’s hope this unsightly inking is the result of a poorly placed bet.
