Did you try the older style of gum-rubber type, that has no velcro? They arent as convenient but might last longer.

We have countless ripped velcro bell boots lying around and it costs more to have them repaired than it does to just buy a new set. I’m trying to find a new use for them, any ideas?

Best answer:

Answer by PH 1
Could you stitch them together and make a make-shift poll protector for trailering?

Wrap them around exposed poles/bars/beams, anywhere horse or human might bang their heads or limbs?

Unless you are a hardcore skiier with an extreme skill, boots wont make a difference

It’s 90% skill, 6% weather and 4 % gear

I have a 27 year old horse who is having a bought with Laminitis. He had been doing well but now ” here we go again”. I am trying magnetic bell boots now but I want to know will they help or what else can I do. Also what other alternative things can I do? He is an insulin resistant horse and is on MSM and is taking Previcox.

Answer by PeaBee
I used them on a mare with ringbone. So I think the jury is still out on how effective they work, depending upon the severity of your horse’s condition. From the age and condition of your horse, I doubt that they will help.

Diet will be your best solution. And I have heard good reports about the products taken internally if laminitis is flaring up. You can research them in any horse catalog like Jeffers or Valley Vet.
And doing the cooling of the feet is still suggested.

Question by winxhoney23

What are the best kind of bell boots that can be used for everything i do like i jump for pleasure and i compete in barrel racing and just for normal everyday riding so what would be the best kind and would it be better if i got 2 pair one for the back and one for the rear?

Best answer:

Answer by navajoeventer!
Bell boots are used for horses that overreach (or, on horses that the owner just decides to put them on to protect the hooves or something…)
Unless your horse is clipping his back hooves with his front hooves I would just get them for the front hooves!
you can get a simple pair like this:

Question by Lainey H

So I am getting new skis, but I am not quite sure which is the best ski.

I am a skier that likes mostly anything but jumping. I am not a beginner, and not intermediate, but not amazing.

So if you have any idea which brand would be better, that would be great to hear more options, but this is what i have so far.

K2 T:9 First Luv Womens Skis with M2 10.0 Bindings
Salomon Siam Origin Womens Skis with Z10 B80 Bindings
K2 T:9 One Luv IBC Womens Skis with IBC 9.0 Bindings

And also I was thinking about the 2008 Lange Exclusive 60 Ski Boots. Does anyone know if those are an okay boot?

Personal reference would be great.

Answer by pyelder
buying skis and boots is such a personal decision. It depends on your physical characteristics, how you ski, and where you ski.

In terms of skis, it sounds like you’re looking for a decent all-mountain ski. If at all possible, I suggest demoing the ski on the ski hill before buying it. You can do this at most major ski areas, and your demo fee can usually be applied to the purchase. Some areas even have “Demo Days”.

In terms of Boots, “if it don’t fit…. you must quit!”. Here again, it depends how you ski, and what type of snow you usually ski on. For me, boot fit is the most important factor. To paraphrase the above quote, “if it don’t fit, you’ll ski like sh…” Most major manufacturers produce good products, but the key to a successful boot purchase is finding a good fit for your foot, skiing ability, and even the type of ski you’ll be skiing.
