Jacob & Co Question&Answer:

Question by Love Branch

As opposed to feelings, ‘consciousness’, nature and their own man conceived writings and creeds?

Best answer:

Answer by Bill C
Apostolics teach only doctrines from the Bible, and reject all traditions and doctrines and creeds that were adopted by the churches after the first century. They are also strictly monotheistic, rejecting any notion of division in the Godhead. Apostolics believe in one God, a Spirit, who took on flesh for our redemption.

I’ve done a little research, but I can’t seem to make any connections.

Best answer:

Answer by Lyra [in Wonderland]
I LOVED this book. I didn’t see the connections right away either. But I did find this on an Amazon.com forum:

“There are anagrams, both exact and phonetic: Catherine Hale=Leah, Marlena L’Arche=Rachel, Alan Bunkel (Uncle Al)=Uncle Laban

There is the flat rock, the dream, the animal husbandry for Uncle Laban, Jacob and Rachel (Marlena) leave with Uncle Al’s (Uncle Laban’s) best livestock, Jacob must do an additional seven years of animal husbandry in order to be with Marlena, he breaks his hip, etc. Some of his children’s names are the same as well. ”

Here’s the site: http://www.amazon.com/Parellels-the-biblical-story-Jacob/forum/Fx2LPKXA2VQG496/Tx1CDSX921LNXP9/1?_encoding=UTF8&asin=0002007770

Jacob & Co Question&Answer:

Question by A. Jackson

Didn’t he also make a covenant with Noah?

And why did God tell Moses that I am the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?

Why don’t he say I am God?

How do we know if anything of this is actually real? And what year did this actually happen?

Best answer:

Answer by theone78
God made a twofold promise to Abraham. The first was a material promise that he would be the father of many nations and that kings would descend from him. God promised him that his progeny would inherit the land of Canaan, an expanse that He defined as stretching from the Nile to the Euphrates rivers. The second, but more important, promise was spiritual. God promised Abraham that in his Seed all the nations of the earth would be blessed. This promise encompasses the life and work of Abraham’s best known and most revered descendant, Jesus Christ.

This promise was later extended to include the inheritance of the whole world (Romans 4:13). Abraham’s physical descendants, the nation of Israel, inherited the land of Canaan. This was a type of Abraham’s spiritual descendants inheriting the earth.

Question by Cat’s Eye Angie: where in the bible does it say to give 10% of our money to the church?
or was that just made up by the church?

and for what use does God need money? To help the preachers build mega churches? buy fancy jets? to buy lexus’ and rolex’s?
calley: but where does it state that the 10% HAS TO BE MONEY, CASH, PESOS, etc.?

Why not just give 10% of your time, help a neighbor, a friend, even a complete stranger

do those things not count towards that 10%?
Tomk: Watch christian tv sometime and you’ll see the jets and rolex’s

Jesse Duplantis i believe has a lexus and two jets.

Yeah… and the NFL, NBA, MLB, PGA, NASCAR, Anheuser-Busch, Coors, Phillip Morris, Nike, Barnes & Noble, Hollywood Video, Sean John, Paris Hilton, Lil Wayne, Dixie Chicks, Sony, Nintendo, Apple, Canon, Kodak, Microsoft, MGM, Taco Bell, McDonald’s, OutBack, O’Neal, Levi Strauss, Nike, Skechers, your local tat parlor, bar, nightclub, hairdresser and tanning salon are all about “benevolence”… I guess that’s why you’re not overly concerned with them running the world and getting in your pocket…

Let me see… if I’m lower middle class and make $ 30,000 a year and give 10% to a church or ministry of some sort, that’s… HOLY MACKEREL… $ 3000 in a YEAR!

That’s got to be at least ONE-THIRD less than what someone spends on one carton of cigarettes every week for a year! Or ONE-THIRD less than what someone might spend on a six-pack of beer every day for a year!!!!! UN-STINKIN-BELIEVABLE!! (Gosh! I sure hope that person isn’t buying a carton of cigs AND those sixers of beer in the same week… that would really screw up the amount they spend on their charitable donations!)

Malachi 3:10
Bring ye all the TITHES into the storehouse, that there may be meat in MINE HOUSE, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

Matthew 23:23
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay TITHE of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these OUGHT YE TO HAVE DONE, and not to leave the other undone.

Webster’s
Main Entry: TITHE
