If you’re in the market for a vintage Heuer (truth: you should always be in the market for a vintage Heuer), this weekend presents some great buying opportunities as there are three auctions taking place, offering a few dozen old chronos for sale, at what could be very fair prices.

We’ll let Jeff and the gang over at On The Dash break em down for you, but all three sales have some nice things on the block.

So many of us young watch fans dream of owning great, complicated timepieces.  But, with the industry as it is, and the Swiss Franc also as it is, truly complicated pieces are out of the financial range for all but the wealthiest buyers.  Frankly, I would love, and I mean love, to own a Patek Philippe 5960 Annual Calendar Chronograph (whether i’d wear it on a NATO strap is another question), but with a retail price of over $ 90,000, it is (far) out of the realm of possibility.  Still, the pairing of a chronograph with an extended calendar complication – perpetual or annual – is something that I, and many friends and readers I speak to, really lust for.  The question is, does anyone make a watch with this combination that is even remotely affordable?  From the conglomerate brands, I can’t think of one.

But, with Zenith’s new Captain Winsor, a product of a brilliant collaboration, that has all changed. Click through to see just how affordable this awesome new complicated piece is.

Question by The Clown Prince of Crime

I remember when he ”died” in 1994 (despite the feud with Yokozuna being overrated and stupid) – the ratings went sky high for his amazing coming back promos that lasted for months… That was great TV!!! And then the legendary build up for Wrestlemania 14 (one of the best storylines ever!!). Then his months lasting promos directed to Kane until Wrestlemania XX. And I believe anyone watching WWE from at least 2008 still remembers how much of an attention his banishment storyline garnered, especially in IWC.

And now this vegetative storyline. Present or absent, Taker simply rocks. I mean its amazing how this storyline has taken all of us by storm. I like it.

And what if the person who took out the Undertaker was a Masked Kane, yet the person seeking vengeance in the unmasked Kane? This could lead to a great individual self battle within Kane which would hopefully bring back the masked Kane, who would be seen as a real threat, and not just the ‘Big Red Jobber’. That would be a very good excuse to bring the mask back. Someone would convince Kane he’s the one responsible, while Kane denies such claims, ultimately lashing out and just destroying everything in his path, carrying the mask because his destructive side just got out there and took control. Yup, a WWE version of Dr. Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde…

The Undertaker will celebrate his 20th anniversary coming this November…and people still buy his gimmick. Amazing.
No, I got the DVD’s containing Taker vs Yokozuna. I started watching since WM 10, though.

I know. He’s the DEADman – Why is it so shocking when they claim he’s DEAD?

I’ve seen about 10 Undertaker funerals in my day. Calm down, everyone.

On March 11 a magnitude 9.0 earthquake struck northern Japan. Over 15 thousand were killed and countless others displaced. A global effort to aid the victims has been underway since the shaking ceased. Joining the releif effort is Audemars Piguet, pledging 10 percent of sales of 2 special edition Royal Oak Offshore watches, dubbed the GINZA 7. This is all a part of their “SUPPORT JAPAN” project, which has a long-term goal of raising 100 million yen for Red Cross Japan.

Under most circumstances, I feel that special editions and limited editions add little value to a watch. However, these special edition GINZA 7 watches from AP are truly worthy of the label and any attention it bestows upon them.

Question by omygosh

The stock market crash of 1929 was not only the start of worldwide economic depression, but also emotional depression. Since markets became closed, production decreased, causing inflation, which led to a shortage of consumer goods, particularly food. The closing of banks led to mass unemployment. Dorothea Lange skillfully displayed workers’ responses to the state of life in the Depression. A documentary photographer, she possessed lots of empathy, and was able to relate to her subjects easily, getting them to open up to her about their feelings. Hoping to move people with her work so that they would help those in need, she produced the Migrant Mother sequence, and sure enough, the government sent food to the family’s dwelling after seeing the pictures. However, although her work was inspired by the poor conditions of living from the late 1920s to the 1950s, the unemployment and poverty were not the only focus of them. “…image [also] draws strongly on cultural values associated with… social stability, constructing a reassuring depiction of noble and undeserved suffering rather than focusing on major economic problems” (Phaidon). Dorothea Lange produced her photography based on the idea that humans are apathetic towards poverty if it does not involve them, so people need someone to make situations of poverty easy to connect to through the use of emotional connections so that people will be able to sympathize with the poor.
The essay is an analysis of Dorothea Lange’s photography. This paragraph shows some of the background.
If you have any other corrections to make for the paragraph, they are welcome. Thanks, Dodo.

Question by WWE RULZZ!!! (HOF Edition): Does Vince McMahon pay any attention to the PG riots of the IWC?
Many of the IWC members, including myslef, riot against the PG Era. We want WWE’s TV-14 ratings back but does all our riots mean anything to the pioneer himself, Vince McMahon.

Just so you know, you may consider the whole WWE staff under the title of ‘Vince McMahon’

Best answer:

Answer by Chris Jericho™
Yes i think they are taking it into consideration from now on. Vince knows that the old fans of WWE really need some violent wrestling that compares to that of the Attitude era, where using chairs and the violent moves was normal.

I have seen a lot of changes in WWE, infact WWE is improving everyday for those who love the attitude era.

Take into consideration Sheamus. Sheamus the warrior is himself gonna change the PG era. He has been bringing his little pipe and kicks butts in an extreme way. This made HHH bring back his Sledge hammer. I wonder when they will use it.

Also Jericho has been using the World Championship as a weapon on Edge. I wonder when the wrestlers will speak out freely, cause they talk in a censored way.

Question by The Clown Prince of Crime: How come Taker/Lesnar commotion got longer reaction & wider attention from IWC than Cain’s victory exactly?
I mean, based on the current climate in the IWC, Taker/Lesnar is being talked about and rumored everywhere, right?

Best answer:

Answer by $ (D) $
Well as many have said, even though cain is now champ chances are Lesnar will STILL draw more than him because of wrestling fans and now he has many MMA fans, so that’s a lot of people. Plus Undertaker is big also, and not many people now about backstage and personal rivalries so this thing between them is getting both wrestling and MMA fans talking ans also starting rumours.
