Question by diego forlan

first of all i am 27. through investing and purchasing real estate i have made 7 figures and honestly i could retire right now and live off of like 50k till im about 80. i just stopped work to go to school full time.
first of all i come from a low middle class family so im not snooty i dont walk around like my sh!t dont stink. i rent an apt in a slightly better neighborhood then where i grew up. only ways you would know i have money are my 2 rolexes and tag heuer ($ 28k), my 05 m3 08m5 11k upgrades each my 96 integra lol. and nice clothes.
so my ?. i met a very very hot girl about 3 months ago like a bit out of my league at a dress pants type of bar/club. she is really cool and nice. but she is high maintenance. i dont usually go for this type of girl but im liking her.im definitely not saying shes a gold digger. when i first talked to her she noticed the rolex , she then complemented my suit (D&G) she pretty much knew i had some money. as we spoke and she saw i had expensive stuff i could kind of tell she kept liking me abit more. after about 15 min talking and a smoke outside my friends came out and i called up my car. the m5 came around and she obviously liked it. i got her number and that was that. we have gone out about once a week since and are just having fun dating. she likes the money though, fancy dates driving my cars. its not always expensive but we have gone on 4 dates that were about 400 each. she doesn’t ask for it but we end up going to nice places. she knows i just sold a house and i have enough money to take 2 years off of work pay my bills and go to school. im just worried that if i tell her a big portion of why she likes me will be because of what i can give her materialwise and just financial. i take things sloooow so im not thinking long term relationships love anything like that. just companions right now.

Question by John R

Well to put it simply I sold a stolen watch on ebay without knowing it was stolen. I received a phone call from a detective who is looking for the watch and who got my information from the bum that sold it to me after he was arrested. The detective just wanted to find the rolex and return it to the owner so i gave him the information of the ebay buyer so he could go retrieve it. There are not going to be any charges pressed against me but I just want some opinions on what will happen next. Probably contact from paypal or whatever, but will I have to give the seller back his money at all?

Best answer:

Answer by Roddy
The seller will ask PayPal for their money back. PayPal will give it to them. Might as well hand it over. I imagine a Rolex brought you quite a bit of money and it’s probably enough to sue you over. You can lose at PayPal or you can lose in court.

It’s even possible the buyer will contact his police department and demand to press charges since you sold a stolen item even if your local police department doesn’t. Best to just get it over with and avoid a lot of problems.

Has anyone seen the show Storage Wars? The more I see this show the more I call BS.

Come on, the shows based in California a state that has a lot of rich people most thinkgs that get sold are usually the following.

Baseball cards, jewelery, Paintings Comic books ETC. Now I understand not everyone can make payments but what idiot puts their most expensive things in a storage unit??? If I had a collection of Rolex Watches for example, I’m not gonna put them in a Storage Unit. I believe some of the stuff is put there on purpose to gain viewers. What to u think?
Here’s one good example. There’s an Episode where Darrell buys a storage unit and discovers an oil painting, That had $ 1,700 hidden behind it. Now who in the hell is gonna hide $ 1,700 dollars behind a painting and not remember where it is? I’ve hidden $ 5.00 and still remember where I hide it.

Looks kind of fake to me considering you never see any of the other people at the auction bidding on units.

Question by Miss Clueless

I have very well thought out dreams, & really want to achieve them someday.
I have been riding horses all of my life. the past 3 years ive been riding western & before that i rode english for about 8 years (i’m 15)
Western is fun, but ive decided that eventing, dressage & jumping are where my interest is.
Im saving up to buy some nice english tack for my horse by this winter & either keeping or selling my western tack. Ill ride english without lessons for the next 3 years before college. I won’t be having lessons because my barn is western & im not allowed to move my horse, ive tried many times. I am in 4-H though, so i have a 2-day clinic that i can choose to ride english in once a year.

Anyways, once i graduate high school i plan to attend a college with an equestrian team & bring my horse. I plan to major in business & minor in equine studies to hopefully someday open my own tack shop & ride in A rated shows (& hopefully ride in the rolex one day)

So any advice/opinions?

Thanks!

I can’t move my horse because my mom wont let me, & i live in a small town. anywhere close enough is a lot more expensive.
I’ve tried everything to convince her, its not happening =[

Answer by hunter/jumper and dog trainer
there are a lot of trainers that will go to your barn for a lesson… try to find one… why can’t you move your horse?

How obvious is this fake?

Question by Lucky Bunny

I just received an email. I didn’t even open it, but the subject caught my eye.

Brand name quality Rolexes

Is it just me, or is Rolex actually a brand name, that is know for its quality?

So if ‘whoever’ is selling watches that are brand name QUALITY, one would assume they are not brand name watches, only equal in quality.

So if they’re not brand name, they are not Rolexes, and therefore (as the email’s subject suggests) do not actually exist.

My conclusion:

SCAM
Bear in mind I got all this from the subject line of the email. Even if it wasn’t already obvious, it still clearly states it’s a scam in the subject line.

A bit like the account security confirmation requests I get from a bank I don’t even have an account with.

Best answer:

Answer by Steven D
Bingo! All too often people see a name or an approximate name and assume they are the genuine article. A Rolex watch is the hall mark in quality timepieces. Would you buy a Roleex watch assuming it was the real thing? I congratulate you on your perception!

Question by Smart Mark

How can people make the argument that pro-wrestling is fake when it’s openly a work?
A fake rolex watch can only be fake if it was sold to a customer as the real thing. Wrestling isn’t being sold as the real thing so how can it be fake?

Since 1988, WWF/E has openly stated that it isn’t a competitive sport, it was athletic theatrics. This was reviled by Linda McMahon when they told the New Jersey State board of athletics they didn’t need to be regulated and taxed like competitive sports.

People aren’t running around calling magic shows fake. Because magic isn’t fake. And all of the audience at a Las Vegas magic show knows it. They pay to watch skilled artists preform a craft. It’s openly entertainment in the same way wrestling is.

Or am I going wrong somewhere?

good point, well made
