Question by Venus 1485AD: What wristwatch costs ,600,000?
I am Italian, and I own several nice watches. Today, I wear a $ 8795 Omega “5886.90.56″ with 41 diamonds around the dial. At a dance studio, I met a Japanese girl who has the same birthday I do, 6/5. She wore a fancy watch recently that she said her boyfriend bought for her birthday. It is a $ 36,400 Audemars Piguet “Lady Millenary” with 112 diamonds. For her 2007 birthday, he bought her a $ 15,700 Piaget “Polo”. He owns 50 watches made 1893 to recently. One is a $ 58,200 Breguet perpetual calendar. I saw one he wore that has dials on both front and back with many hands and small dials on them. It would take time to learn what all this watch has on it. She said it is a limited-edition of some sort that cost $ 1,600,000. I was stunned by such a watch, so I did not follow what she said about it. Does anyone have any idea what watch is so complicated and costs so much?
I am evidently much less rich than my Japanese friend and her boyfriend. I cannot afford her watches or his certainly. This couple has plenty of brains. People with less money and brains envy them. It takes brains to make enough money to buy all of these costly watches, i.e. 50 for him and several for her.

Hi everyone! i need an opinion about a ring. Here is the website:

http://www.breguet.com/index.php/eng/Collections/Jewellery/By-collection/Reine-de-Naples/GJE07BB05.9085

What do you guys think of its as a wedding ring?!? Thanks !
I was thinking that this ring might be too big and too flashy but i fell in love with it the first time i saw it. I would love it for my wedding ring but i dont know if its practical, will i be able to wear it on the regular bases. As far as the price….yeah…the clear diamond is about $ 250,000!!! and the color ones are like 20-30g for a certain color. Its pricey but i think we can find a jeweler here in town that can custom made it to look like it for a cheaper price. THanks for your opinion guys!

Watch Advice?

Question by sirch: Watch Advice?
Hi!

what are the best luxury watch brands? and if you had to choose between a Breguet Transatlantique or a Rolex Oyster Datejust with diamonds watch, which would you like to receive? What are comparable watches to the abovementioned? Serious answers please! Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Melody
What type of metal? Gold? Or white gold/platinum? Not a fan of yellow gold. The Rolex is a pretty watch. I don’t care for the two tone gold. Have you looked at any other brands? Their are some pretty Omega’s and IWC’s.

Question by groverraj: Your favorite expensive watch and why? This is not re: crap like Rolex , Tag or Movado.?
I have an AP Starwheel. I need another new watch. Trying to decide a good watch with rose or pink gold, with some complications. Looking at Frank Muller Long Island Master Banker or Breguet Transatlantique XX or something similar.

I myself have an Omega Seamaster automatic. I love it. It’s built like a tank and keeps great time. But for your needs, I also like Breguet and also Patek Phillipe. Zenith also makes some very unusual watches with the complications you are looking for. Try their “Haute Horologerie” model.
Good Luck!

Question by Grant: My Grandfather Recently Inherited A Deceased Uncle’s Watch With A Foreign Language Message Engraved In It?
The engravement reads: Ancre ligme droite spiral breguet 15 Rubis.

I typed in it and it said it is something called a Lincoln 15 Jewel Watch or something please help me translate this!

Best answer:

Answer by CASANOV
It must be ”ligne” not ”ligme”
This is French, it describes the characteristics of the watch
spiral Breguet is Breguet hairspring, Breguet being a brand
15 rubis is 15 jewels
Ancre Ligne Droite means that is has a straight line lever escapement.

Question by A R: Do Breguet Watches have serial numbers. ?

Best answer:

Answer by ZCT
The cheapest I can find even online is about $ 6,000. But most are well in excess of $ 10K with many double that price.

So I’m pretty certain they are going to have a serial number on them.

Pretty much any watch over $ 1,000 is going to have a serial number, in my experience.

Their official corporate web site makes a big deal of their record keeping (Customer Care > Record Keeping). So they would have to have a serial number to track who owns the watch.

So I’d say I am 99% certain they do.

Question by Johnny Whittier: Who is the clock maker Breguet?
I have an antique carriage clock with an inscription that says Breguet 1818 on it. Is that the name of the clock maker? If so who is he? If he’s famous maybe my clock will be worth more

Best answer:

Answer by rbisheguin
I made an article about this clock maker recently, here’s a snipit:

“It is believe that the first French made carriage clock was built by one of the most respected and inspired watchmakers of his time, Abraham-Louis Breguet(1747-1823). It was no secret at the time that there was a demand in the market place for a traveling clock that could withstand the rigors of travel. Abraham-Louis Breguet was not the first to come up with this idea, but he could be considered one of the most creative and one of the best at implementing these ideas into real working masterpieces.”

So hold onto that clock it’s probably worth a small fortune!
